Bayern Munich's Latest News: Dayot Upamecano Joins the Team

Bayern Munich has announced that Dayot Upamecano has signed a contract with the club, becoming the latest addition to their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

The French defender joined Bayern from Red Bull Leipzig for a fee of €25 million (approximately £19 million), and he will be reunited with his former manager Julian Nagelsmann at the Allianz Arena.

Upamecano is a highly-rated defender who has been capped by France at senior level. He started his career at Lyon before moving to RB Leipzig in 2017, where he made over 100 appearances and helped them win the Bundesliga title twice.

Nagelsmann was particularly impressed with Upamecano's performances during the German champions' successful campaign last season,Bundesliga Tracking which saw them reach the final of the UEFA Champions League.

In an interview with Bayern TV, Upamecano said: "I am very happy to join this great club and work under such a talented coach like Julian Nagelsmann. I have always admired Bayern Munich's style of play and I can't wait to start working with my new teammates."

Upamecano's signing is just one of several recent moves by Bayern Munich, who have also brought in players such as Kingsley Coman and Joshua Kimmich. The club is looking to build on their success from last season, and Upamecano is expected to make a significant contribution to their efforts.
